My other ART

I love art all kinds of art but people are often surprised when they find out that I also like the art of tattoos. Tattoos are my other ART..... I was thinking to myself what is it that I love so much about tattoos while other parents are cringing and hoping their kids never get a tattoo I embrace them and love them. (Of course I agree it is not a decision that a minor should make because it is permanent and will last forever).

So I decided to track down the History of tattoos and see if I am the only one that is addicted to body ART...and where and when did this phenomenon start...

a brief history of tattoos

the word tattoo is said to has two major derivations- from the polynesian word ta which means striking something and the tahitian word tatau which means to mark something the history of tattoo began over 5000 years ago and is as diverse as the people who wear them.

Female Hawaian Hula Dancer

Tattoos are created by inserting colored materials beneath the skins surface the first tattoos probably were created by accident someone had a small wound, and rubbed it with a hand that was dirty with soot and ashes from the fire once the wound had healed, they saw that a mark stayed permanently.

So now me ....what is it with me and these tattoos ... well the bottom line is its my other art I love the designs and the artists who take the time to learn this craft fascinate me and we share a common passion ART. Many tattoo artist start out as artist who take their amazing art and tattoo them onto people... http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000375528548#!/jamilramsey
